MICHAEL J. CASPARINO
President, Northern Connecticut
 Michael J. Casparino
Michael J. Casparino heads People's United Bank in Northern Connecticut. He is responsible for the overall strategic direction for branches in Connecticut's Hartford, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, Tolland and Windham Counties.

Casparino joined People's United Bank as a member of the bank's Retail Management Training Program in 1986. He has fulfilled various assignments of increasing responsibility including those of assistant vice president and branch manager, vice president and area manager, and first vice president and senior growth manager in the Regional Banking division. He is also an active partner in the bank's University of Connecticut athletic sponsorship.

Active in his community, Casparino serves as chairman of the Tax Board of Appeals of the Town of Rocky Hill and is an executive board member within the Greater Hartford area for Hartford Hospital, the Metro Hartford Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Commission, and the Greater Hartford Insurance-Financial Services Cluster. He has served on several panels appointed by the Judiciary committee of the state legislature, including committees for senior citizen housing, IOLTA accounts and mechanics liens. He has been the recipient of numerous community service and volunteerism awards, including the People's United Bank Community Leadership Award.

Casparino received his bachelor's degree in business administration-finance from the University of Connecticut. He also graduated from the National School of Banking with honors.

TIMOTHY P. CRIMMINS, JR.
President, Massachusetts Timothy P. Crimmins, Jr.

Timothy P. Crimmins heads People's United Bank in Massachusetts.

As the founding president of The Bank of Western Massachusetts, Crimmins successfully organized the first commercial bank to be formed in over 25 years in Western Massachusetts, having raised over $14 million in capital from 530 shareholders. Founded in 1986, the bank was originally formed to service the needs of small and medium size businesses.

Prior to joining The Bank of Western Massachusetts, Crimmins was vice president of the Commercial Banking Group for Third National Bank of Hampden County later renamed to Bank of New England-West. He joined the bank as a management trainee and progressed through various management positions. Crimmins was appointed President of Flagship Bank in Worcester in January 2009.

In March of 2000, Crimmins was honored by the Massachusetts District Office of the U. S. Small Business Administration as the Financial Services Advocate for Massachusetts and New England.

A long-time volunteer, Crimmins is the founder of the Springfield ACS Relay for Life; trustee,  of Western New England College; and the  United Way of Pioneer Valley; and director of the Worcester Chamber of Commerce and The Research Bureau of Worcester.

Crimmins received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Western New England College.

ARMANDO F. GONCALVES
President, Southern Connecticut/New York Armando Goncalves

Armando F. Goncalves heads People's United Bank in Southern Connecticut and New York.  He oversees the overall strategic direction for branches in Fairfield County, Connecticut and Westchester County, New York.

Goncalves began his career at People's United in 1975 when he worked as a part-time branch teller at the Bridgeport North and Park office while in college. After graduating, he was selected for the Retail Management Training Program. Goncalves received successive promotions including vice president, Small Business and Commercial Checking market manager; vice president and branch manager for the Bridgeport Main office;area manager, Greater Bridgeport Region;and first vice president and growth manager in People's United Regional Banking division.

Active in his community, Goncalves is a board member of Action for Bridgeport Community Development, as well as the United Way of Eastern Fairfield County, Bridgeport Rotary Club, the Barnum Festival and the Portuguese-American Civic League. He is president of the Greater Bridgeport Community Enterprises, Inc., and former board member and past president of the International Institute of Connecticut, and the Bridgeport Y.M.C.A. In addition, Goncalves was recently named to serve on Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch's transition team. He has been honored with numerous community service and volunteerism awards, including the People's United Bank Community Leadership Award and a State of Connecticut Governor's Award for Community Service.

Goncalves received his bachelor's degree from Sacred Heart University, and is also a graduate of the National School of Banking.

SAMUEL A. LADD III
President, Southern Maine

Samuel LaddSamuel Ladd heads People's United Bank in Southern Maine.  

Ladd joined the Maine Bank & Trust at its inception in 1991.Prior to joining Maine Bank & Trust, Ladd served as executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Maine National Bank and was responsible for trust, retail banking, operations and commercial lending.

Ladd is on the Government Relations Council of the American Bankers Association; a board member of the Maine Bankers Association and chair of the Trust Committee; board member of Southern Maine Community College and Maine Maritime Museum; and the finance chair for U.S. Senator Susan Collins. He is a recent recipient of the Portland Regional Chamber's Leadership Award and the 2007 Distinguished Citizen Award of the Boy Scouts of America, Pine Tree Council.

Ladd received a bachelor's degree from Bowdoin College.

WILLIAM P. LUCY
President, Northern Maine

Willam LucyWilliam P. (Bill) Lucy heads People's United Bank in Northern Maine.

Lucy began his career at Merrill Bank as a senior loan officer in 1992.

Prior to joining Merrill Bank, Lucy was vice president, branch administration and business development with Union Trust Company. He has also held positions with Fleet Bank of Maine and its predecessors, beginning his career as a management trainee. He progressed through various branch management positions and commercial lending positions with Fleet.

A long-time community leader, Lucy is corporate chair of the American Heart Association 2008 Heart Ball;  director of the Action Committee of 50; Development Committee member for the American Red Cross;  director of the Penobscot Community Health Center;  director of the New Hope Hospice;  and member of the St. Joseph Hospital Audit, Finance and Pension committees.

Lucy holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Maine.

DIANNE M. MERCIER
President, New Hampshire Dainne M. Merceir

Dianne M. Mercier heads People's United Bank in New Hampshire.

Mercier began her banking career in 1985 and has spent the past 24 years actively involved in the New Hampshire banking market.

Mercier joined Ocean Bank in 2003 as Senior Vice President and Group Manager for Commercial Lending has been responsible for business and market development in Manchester, Nashua and Concord, New Hampshire.

Prior to joining Ocean Bank, Mercier was State Director, Community Banking for Citizens Bank, where she was responsible for the initial start-up and strategic development of the State Community Banking Group in New Hampshire.  She also played an active role in the implementation of a comprehensive Small Business Lending Model. 

Mercier is a leader in the local community and is actively involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Manchester and the Greater Manchester Family YMCA.   She is currently serving on the Board for the Central Business District Committee for the City of Manchester and is a Trustee for the Elliot Health System.  Additionally, she is a member of the 2009 class of the Leadership New Hampshire program.

Mercier holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Southern New Hampshire University.

MICHAEL L. SEAVER
President, Vermont Michael Seaver

Michael Seaver heads People's United Bank in Vermont.

Upon graduation from college, Seaver began his 26-year career with Chittenden  Bank as a teller. In the ensuing years, he has held a variety of positions within commercial banking, most recently serving as division manager-commercial banking and senior lending officer for Chittenden Bank.

He is a member of the Executive Committee of The Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce and serves as vice chair of its Regional Affairs Committee. Seaver has been actively involved with the Burlington schools for 16 years and currently serves as treasurer of the high school's Booster Club.

Seaver holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont.
